Connect Z.ai (GLM) to OpenClaw
Z.ai provides GLM (General Language Model) models including GLM-5, GLM-4.7, and GLM-5-Turbo. Use your API key to connect OpenClaw Setup.
How to get API key
- Go to z.ai/manage-apikey/apikey-list
- Sign in or register for an account
- Create an API key in the dashboard and copy it
- Paste the API key into the OpenClaw Setup wizard
Setup token required?
Not required. Z.ai uses only an API key. There is no separate setup token or OAuth flow — your API key is the sole credential.
Available GLM models
OpenClaw Setup supports the following Z.ai (GLM) models:
- GLM-5 — High-performance reasoning model with 204,800 context window and 131,072 max output tokens
- GLM-4.7 — Efficient reasoning model with 204,800 context window and 131,072 max output tokens
- GLM-5-Turbo — Fast reasoning model with 204,800 context window and 131,072 max output tokens
All GLM models support text input and include built-in reasoning capabilities for complex tasks.
Ready to launch?
Once you have your Z.ai API key, go to the dashboard to complete setup and start using GLM models in OpenClaw.
Once connected, your OpenClaw instance will use Z.ai's GLM models for AI responses. Configure your default model in the dashboard settings or use the `/model` command in chat to switch between GLM-5, GLM-4.7, and GLM-5-Turbo.
